Even when my blog is inactive, spammers still loiter around my posts and rain spam on them every so many hours or days. Basically Akismet caught its first thousandth spam comment for BoltPress. Is this really an achievement worth bragging about?

A thousand of these comments… some of which are short, some really immense lists of pharmaceutical, pornographic or just plain pointless links, others just pretty random blabber. All of which, though, don’t deserve to be seen by legitimate readers of blogs of any kind.

You should also check out my posts tagged Spam Filter Free Day to learn more about this little experiment, so to speak, that took place last December. Makes people ponder how much time, energy and server/client power is wasted just by spamming alone. Those spammers simply can’t get enough, can they? :/
