Back to Potassium; WordPress theme news
Nov 1
November. The end of the Breast Cancer Awareness month, so it’s about time I shed the pink skin and take on my silver-white Potassium design.
I’ve been working very slowly on a WordPress theme. But I’ve decided to stop working on it and begin another theme project.
It’s a soft, dusty brown, autumn theme that I decided to drop because I figured that it wouldn’t really do well as itself a theme, and it’ll do better as just a design for, say, Sandbox. Like Potassium.
The new theme I’m thinking of starting designing should look a little more modern (Web 2.0). As with my previous idea, I’ll be sure to design it so it’ll be portable to Blogger, for which I’ll code the layout after everything seems fine with WordPress.
For the rest of the year, themes I create for WordPress will be compatible with WordPress 2.2. From 2008 I’ll only support WP 2.3, and later versions of my then-current themes will support WP 2.2 for a while more before moving on to 2.3. And remember, themes (and maybe plugins!) I create will all share the same demo site at dev.NOVALISTIC.
My blog tutorial will be written along with designing my theme. So that means I’ll be working on two themes simultaneously! The source files and code for the tutorial, along with the theme I’ll start developing, will be available under the GPL. Wow, I just love multitasking
Stay tuned around this space!
