Of course, that may be offset by having a wp.com blog, but this site will probably sink even lower in terms of referred visitors... I help run a group horror blog. We have a short URL and a long URL; originally when we moved from blogspot.com, I had the long URL site set up as a mirror and our Google referrals sank like stones. Once I set up the long URL to be the only site and had the short URL be a 301 redirect (with .htaccess handling redirects to specific pages), our Google karma came back up. Just FYI.
