As of this very minute of writing:

Bad Behavior has blocked 1011 access attempts in the last 7 days.

In the last couple days, BB was blocking only three to four hundred a week. And now it has more than doubled. It probably hit a thousand while I was either asleep or having my E-Math Paper 2. This spam thing is getting really scary…

And even if Bad Behavior didn’t catch some sneakier bots climbing over the fence, at least I have Akismet at my door :D

Speaking of Akismet, recently it caught its 3 billionth (3,000,000,000th) spam comment! Congrats Automattic! Also as of this very minute of writing, according to the Live Spam Zeitgeist:

  • 3,000,449,348 spams caught so far
  • 1,241,093 so far today
  • 92% of all comments are spam

Oh. My. God.
